Modi Ji, As per Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) God created the world for 6 days and he rested/sanctified it on the 7th day.
So, one day of the week is holidays for them to rest and pray. Therefore, Jews, Christians and Muslims do congregational prayers on Saturday, Sunday and Friday respectively. Accordingly, the Christian British rulers declared Sunday as holiday to suit their religious requirement. On the other hand, the ancient Vedic literature, especially Jyotisha, which is one of the Shadangas, deals with ascertaining time based on the movement of celestial bodies, etc.
The 7 grahas that are easily visible led to the conceptualisation of 7-day week. Surya Siddhanta orders these 7 grahas from slowest to fastest: the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn, and assigns each of them to a day of the week respectively as Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Since every day of the week is ruled by or assigned to a Devata, all days are sacred for Hindus. Please don’t pretend to be a polymath and spread half-knowledge and ignorance.
